We made it to Hobart

The Prince of Wales Marina in Hobart is our home for the next 2 weeks.

We have had a blast over the last 3 weeks at Maria Island but are looking forward to a bit of shopping, showering, laundry and boat work. And of course catching up with family and friends.

The new Nanni diesel motor has just clocked up 100 hours so a service is in order but we are very happy with it so far. (Lots of motoring not much sailing!)

Glad you made it. Now explore Hobart. Our ancestors came there in 1840, stayed until 1856 and then went back to England. William was involved with the army ordinance stores and helped to build the gun batteries at Battery Point and Bellerive. He worked from the westernmost building at Salamanca Place and lived in Sandy Bay. They left all the grown up children in Tasmania. George Walter Cartwright came in 1820 and was the first solicitor in the colony. He married the daughter of a convict, Ellenor Alvaris, Sarah Alvaris, one of their daughters, Georgeana Cartwright married Edward Charles Windsor my great grandfather. We have family graves at Cornelian Bay, Queensborough and St David park. The medicine from Jensen, has cured my trouble with peeing, and the $ 2350 injection is for the cancerous business, which will take longer. I am much more comfortable with it all now. I had a lovely windfall last weekend, Auntie Nell’s one hundred year old treadle sewing machine. It was a bit rusty and had a couple of broken parts, and the wood work on top had lifted, but all in all it is OK. The machine we got from Exeter is a perfect fit. Hope to hear from you again soon……Love from Dad. Sent from Mail for Windows 10
